The purpose of the event

  • These will take place as monthly talks organised by the St Johns Society.
  • They are designed to inform useful discussions about a range of green issues.

Some themes

Arguing that many culinary skills are - in the best sense - sustainable John Wood reminds us of the synergies we find in cooking. In his talk he explains the combination of different foodstuffs can deliver more nourishment than we would get from eating the individual ingredients separately. Claire Hallam discusses the culture of nutrition in prisons and explains how difficult it is to change behaviour around diet and food. Laura Tilbury is a Community Development Worker currently supporting local food giving groups. Her talk will describe her transformative work with Good Food Lewisham that includes developing a Network (Good Food Business) that brings together businesses, individuals and volunteer groups.
